What an unforgettable weekend for the culture. From Friday evening’s opening notes through Sunday night’s final standing ovation, we had our mobile apparel storefront set up live for the 69th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival, running September 25–27, 2026.
As the world’s longest continuously running jazz event—celebrating its rich history on the beautiful Monterey County Fairgrounds since its founding in 1958—the atmosphere this year was defined by a deep appreciation for masterful talent and timeless style.
We were incredibly fortunate to be positioned right in the heart of the action near the legendary main arena’s Jimmy Lyons Stage. While the overall festival grounds carried a relaxed, low-tempo, and mature cadence, our booth space was a beautiful whirlwind of intergenerational connection. We welcomed a steady, diverse mix of long-time supporters wearing our classic apparel pieces—designs that use deep visual storytelling and rich symbolism—and younger music lovers discovering our connection-driven brand for the first time. We were so busy sharing stories, decoding the art and symbolism in our gear, talking music history, and helping folks find their perfect fits that we barely left our post—but when the lineup is this historic, the soulful soundscape carries right to you.
Soundtracks of the Culture: Honoring a Maestro and Living Legends
Being parked next to the main stage meant our entire weekend was soundtracked by living history. On Friday night, the fairgrounds air came alive with a high-energy performance by The Eddie Palmieri Experience. Featuring his original band members paying a magnificent tribute to the legacy of the late maestro. The thunderous percussion, explosive arrangements, and soaring vocals of his signature repertoire perfectly captured the deep Afro-Latin musical traditions that inspire the storytelling and rich symbolism we sew into our apparel lines.
By Sunday evening, the Monterey Jazz Festival 2026 lineup settled into a profound, intimate space that left the entire crowd breathless: Herbie Hancock and Ron Carter performing as an exclusive duet. Watching these two giants—now in their late 80s and executing their craft with absolute precision and mastery—close down the main stage was a beautiful reminder of what true dedication looks like. They first shared this same fairgrounds stage together back in 1963 with the Miles Davis Quintet, and witnessing their quiet, enduring synergy decades later was nothing short of spiritual.
